Tales of Tel'Palurin
All magic has a musical quality to it, a pitch and tempo. Bards are particularly attuned to this arcane musicality. The Discordant Melody is an artifact of that, created when Aragmar rent the Godshield. The shard used to fracture the shield was a construct of pure elemental evil. The Godshield, constructed of arcane energy, resounded with a chord unheard before or since, the sound of tearing metal, a thousand wailing demons, the most beautiful songbird in existence, and a million other sounds, all combined in one harsh blast that echoed through the Astral Sea. This melody fractured under the strain of its own chaotic formation into three parts: The Resonant Harmony, the Pursuant Metronome, and the Irreconcilable Tempo.
